Because debating over the best BBQ is usually the second favorite thing most BBQ lovers enjoy best.

Dreamland BBQ

In the words of pit master John “Big Daddy” Bishop, “there ain’t nothin’ like em’ nowhere.” Dreamland BBQ might still be new to Tallahassee but they’ve been serving up their legendary ribs for over 50 years throughout Alabama and Georgia. Recently featured on BuzzFeed’s Must-Eat List, Dreamland Tallahassee has proven itself as a paradise for succulent, hickory-grilled ribs and premium platters.

Jim & Milt’s

This native Tallahassee joint has dominated the local BBQ scene since 1968. Its flavors have stood the test of time, from their savory country breakfast special to their famous Hobo plate.

4 Rivers Smokehouse

Created by a Florida State graduate in Orlando, this fast-casual BBQ spot is rapidly expanding with its newest on-campus location at FSU. 4 Rivers redefined the art of smoking and cookin’ up some serious flavor, one brisket at a time. Try classics like Angus Brisket and Burnt Ends, or signature stackers like The Messy Pig and The Texas Destroyer.

The Wilbury

Come for the live music, stay for the sweet BBQ goodness. The Wilbury offers an elevated take on southern BBQ classics from its boomin’ backyard food truck. Willie Jewel’s

Born & raised in Florida, this old school BBQ joint expanded across the southeast with its bold flavors and wonderful sense of southern hospitality. Willie Jewells is dedicated to serving the best BBQ featuring their warm sauces no matter what. Try smokin’ snacks like their Country Corn Fritters, or pig out on “Q by the Pound” and hand-helds like the Slawpy Pig and the Barnyard Burger.

Mission BBQ

Dedicated to saluting US Military personnel, Mission BBQ serves classic favorites like the Baby-B-Back Ribs, Brisket Sandwich and Maggie’s Mac n Cheese. Also, as a true tribute to our local American heroes, the dining room walls are overflowing with patriotic photos honoring soldiers, firefighters, police officers and first responders.

Mo Betta BBQ

Where there’s smoke, there’s flavor. Parked at the Shell gas station on the corner of Apalachee Parkway and Capital Circle NE is a funky little food truck called Mo Betta Barbecue. The secret to their success? It’s their topsecret family recipe of delicious dry-rubs and spectacular BBQ sauce.

Bradley’s Country Store

Bradley’s Country Store is a historic staple in Tallahassee that’s been serving the finest quality country smoked sausage since 1927. This historic, down-home spot sells sausage by the foot along with a variety of other products including house-made mustards, course-ground grits, specially cured cheeses, jellies and sauces.

The Red Shed

This backyard BBQ joint is one of Tallahassee’s hidden gems and a favorite amongst locals for its laid back atmosphere, bangin’ BBQ and BYO beer policy. Kick back and enjoy what will feel like your own family cookout as you listen to live music on the weekends and indulge in a menu offering everything from savory pulled pork to a long list of signature sides. And don’t miss out on their weekly specials, made with locally sourced ingredients.
