Apalachee Bay Community Sailing Program - offering basic through advanced youth sailing lessons in four two-week programs at Shell Point from June through August for children age 9-15. Classes taught by certified instructor and limited to 20 students per session. Program may qualify campers for scouting merit badges. Located at Shell Point Beach, 45 mins. Shell Point Sailboard Club - Located at Shell Point Beach, 45 mins. South of Tallahassee; offering free lessons, by reservation and with parental consent, for children age 10 and older and adults, at 10am on Saturdays for 4 hours from May through Labor Day. A youth rowing program beginning its sixth year of existence since joining two high schools, Chiles and Lincoln, to increase membership. Currently the team is made up of rowers from Chiles High School, John Paul II Catholic High School, Lincoln High School, and Maclay School, however, rowers (9th through 12th grade) from any high school are welcome to join; Contact: Jay Newton at tallyareacrew@comcast.net
