Florida State University Spring Weekend
On the heels of pulling in the top-rated signing class by ESPN in 2011, Florida State University has put together a fun-filled spring weekend, April 14-17, 2011, for fans to gather in Tallahassee to get a glimpse of what’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated football seasons in recent years. In addition, area accommodations are providing special rates and discounts for those sports fanatics with spring football fever.
The weekend will kick-off Thursday evening, April 14, with the Capitol City Beerfest at the University Center Club. The festivities continue Friday evening with a Block Party and Fireworks on Kleman Plaza and Adams Street which will include three stages featuring one of the country’s hottest young stars, Jake Owens, and other regional bands playing music from pop to hard rock. Saturday’s game day celebration starts at 11 a.m. with the 4th annual Best of Tallahassee BBQ Cook-Off on Langford Green. At 4 p.m., fans will rally inside Doak Campbell Stadium for the Annual Garnet & Gold game.
In addition to the football events, the 10th Annual LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival, the FSU Varsity Club Celebrity Golf Classic and the FSU Flying Circus will also take place that weekend.
