Film Liaison Named for the Tallahassee Area
Convention and Visitors Bureau
Tallahassee, FL Jane Matheny was named the Tallahassee Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Liaison for film in February 2007. She is a Tallahassee veteran of video production, live TV and satellite teleconferencing and signed on as consultant with the TACVB to promote the film and video industry in the Leon/Tallahassee area.
Jane Matheny began in the 1980s as a writer/producer for the former Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services then moved to the Department of Education where she pioneered satellite 
teleconferencing, launching SUNSTAR, the nation’s first statewide teleconferencing downlink network. She worked on national and international distance learning projects throughout the 1990s and from 2000 to 2005 focused her writing, producing and distance learning skills for the European Cultural Foundation’s Art for Social Change program. She returned to Tallahassee in 2006.

It will be Jane’s task to help smooth the way for film and video producers through the plethora of local governmental entities that require permits from those who want to make films, videos, television shows or commercials. As the local liaison,
Jane will supervise the on-going development and enhancement of the " filmmakers" section of the TACVB web site, and perform recruiting, scouting and other promotional efforts.
