The Manatees are here!

The Manatees have arrived in abundance to the Tallahassee area this year! While manatees can be seen here year-round, right now, Wakulla Springs State Park (pictured) is teeming with these gentle giants. 

Manatees can be seen frolicking in the swimming area at Wakulla Springs as well as further down the river. Enjoy one of the river-boat tours, provided daily at Wakulla Springs, to see where pods of manatees have gather along the river lazily eating the sea grasses. Kayaking or canoeing down the Wakulla or St. Marks rivers also offers paddlers many opportunities for manatee sightings. There are two local outfitters who know their way around these waters and are happy to assist:
