This document describes the Tallahassee Area Convention and Visitors Bureau’s [TACVB] policy regarding personal information, ongoing communication, site security and overall site usage of VisitTallahassee.com and all other sites operated by TACVB. These provisions apply solely to online activities and are not necessarily applicable to TACVB and may engage in outside of VisitTallahassee.com and any other TACVB website.
Information Collected
The TACVB collects information about users during their registration for websites; user participation in certain activities on TACVB websites, including contests, polls, surveys and forms processing systems; when users request pages from our server, our Web server automatically collects IP addresses. These addresses are used by computers on the network to send the requested pages to users and to manage the user session so that our web pages can provide a custom appearance to the end user. In order to join one of TACVB systems, users must provide certain voluntary information about themselves.
Use of Information
The TACVB will not reveal any personal information that users provide to us to any third party without the users explicit permission. Using e-mail addresses provided at registration or otherwise, TACVB periodically sends out e-mail newsletters, promotional e-mail, surveys and forms processing systems to users about services and products offered by TACVB. Users can indicate that they do not wish to receive e-mail information. Third parties will not contact our users through the use of our Clients e-mails except through advertisements within the emails, or unless users ask to be placed on a list to receive e-mail from our advertisers on subjects of interest.
Our site uses temporary cookies to deliver content specific to users' interests and to honor their preferences. Our site uses permanent cookies only if the user opted to have their computer remember their login information.
TACVB provides that consumers own their personal data themselves. By signing up for TACVB updates, the user has given specific permission to the TACVB to communicate with them through email and to use data for research. Consumers do not need to reply to an email with "remove me" or "unsubscribe". Consumers have full control to delete themselves from the system by selecting the "edit profile” or "your profile" link within the system and selecting "delete me" or "remove me" from the bottom of the profile form.
General
TACVB uses reasonable precautions to keep the personal information disclosed to us secure and to disclose such information only to responsible third parties after permission from the user.
