Lake Talquin State Forest

Apalachicola National Forest
The National Forest stretches over Franklin, Liberty, Leon, and Wakulla Counties. The forest covers 565,000 acres with over 85 miles of trails to explore.

These trails include 69 miles of the Florida National Scenic Trail (FNST) and six interpretive trails: Camel Lake, Fort Gadsden, Leon Sink, Silver Lake, Trail of Lakes, and Wright Lake. Camel Lake, Silver Lake, and Wright Lake are recreational areas that also provide campsites, swimming, showers, and restrooms.

Lake Talquin State Forest
This forest is located in Leon, Gadsden, and Liberty Counties. It is composed of nine main and many small tracts of land that adjoin the Ochlockonee River and Lake Talquin. The forest is made up of flatwoods, hardwoods, rolling uplands, swamps, sandhills, and ravines. There are 17,491acres to explore. The forest offers 11 miles of hiking trails in the Bear Creek and Ft. Braden Tracts.
