Tallahassee Marathon & Half Marathon

38th annual Tallahassee Marathon, 26.2 mile race. Half marathon was added to this event in the mid 1980's. Flat course, fast times, cash awards for top marathon finishers. Limit 1200 (800 in the half, 400 in the full). Weather normally cool & dry. Tech shirts. Post race massage & meal. Age division awards for full & half marathon by local artist Brian Bachman, finishers medals for full & half finishers. Registration starts in June.

Beautiful 12K (7.44 miles) and 6K (3.73 miles) footrace along the river and on the historic St Marks Trail. Awards ceremony riverside at the historic San Marcos de Apalache Historic State Park. Be sure to take a tour! After the race, enjoy the variety of local seafood and bar-b-que restaurants.

"Swing Into Spring" Golf Tournament

Registration for the "Swing Into Spring" Golf Tournament begins at 10 am, with a Shotgun start at 12 pm. Lunch will be provided. There will be an Awards Reception, Poker Run, Raffle Drawing, and prizes for the top 3 team. The $100 dollar fee is for an individual player and $500 is for a 4 player team. Athletes age 50 and over need to mark their calendars for March 10-19, 2012 Come be a part of the games run by Tallahassee Parks Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs. The Capital City Senior Games will begin competition in 14 sports at a variety of venues around Tallahassee. Start now and begin preparing that training program to compete in the table tennis, horseshoes, volleyball Basketball Shooting , the Cycling Time Trials or a variety of swimming events. The Tallahassee event is state certified and serves as a qualifier for the State Championship.

Mark your calendars to attend the Cross Country Challenge @ Red Hills, Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. This 3.8K course complete with jumps, obstacles and hills will give participants the opportunity to test their skills on the same course in which the horses compete. Lisa G. Graganella Nutcracker Golf Classic

The Nutcracker Golf Classic includes participation from over 100 golfers in our community annually. As in previous years, the event will be held at the SouthWood Golf Club and is a shotgun format. Golfers receive lunch, registration bags filled with great items from local businesses, as well as receive door prizes throughout the day. The event also includes a silent auction that includes sports-themed trips, cruises, jewelry and gift certificates to local area restaurants. At the end of the day, there is an awards banquet for all to enjoy. Funds raised from this event are crucial to The Tallahassee Ballet, as they provide critical funding for our Community Outreach Programs.
