Florida Historic Capitol Museum: Curator's Tour -Navigating New Worlds

Each fourth Friday of the month in 2013, meet at the Visitor Services Desk at 11:00 a.m. for a special Curator’s Tour of the exhibit. Historic Capitol staff will talk about the development of Navigating New Worlds, highlight additional themes that aren’t explored in the exhibit text, and point out interesting tidbits on the maps that you may not find on first glance.

New Leaf Market has a large selection of domestic and imported wines, including many that are free of additives. The cost is $3 per person. Intermediate Blacksmithing Workshop

Learn all the necessary steps to make charcoal. Previous attendees of the Blacksmithing for Beginners workshop will be given one complimentary space in this workshop. Participants must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Clothing must be made of natural fibers. Ages 13 and up.

Museum of Florida History: History at High Noon

Historian Anthony Dixon presents “The Black Seminoles.” Many slaves escaped to join the Native American tribes throughout Florida. Dr. Dixon explores their origins and impact on Seminole culture. This lecture is part of the programing for the Museum’s temporary exhibit, Seminole People of Florida: Survival and Success.
