Since arriving with Spanish explorers in the 16th century, cattle have become interwoven into the history and culture of Native Americans in Florida. Jon Grandage from the State Archives of Florida will discuss the origins of cattle culture among Florida Indians, and how the Seminole Tribe of Florida keeps herding traditions alive today. Historical Happenings is a lecture series held on the first Saturday of the month. Historical Happenings presentations are free with a site membership. The lectures are free with paid admission to all other attendees.
