Think you have what it takes to be an astronaut? You can experience the next best thing to space travel at the Challenger Learning Center Space Mission Simulator–now open to the public. On September 11th from 10am-12pm you will have the opportunity to be a part of a NASA “Rendezvous with a Comet”. You’ll take on the role of a life support scientist, navigator, probe engineer, medic or communications technician inside the mission control room and on board the space station lab. The cost for your trip to outer space is $10 per-person for CLC members and $15 per-person for non-members. These opportunities are first-come, first-serve and we only have room on board for the first thirty-two (32) astronauts who register. To guarantee your spot, you may register in advance (a $5 deposit is required for advance registration). Astronauts must be at least nine (9) years old to participate, except for the Mininaut missions. Children younger than 9 accompanied by an adult may participate in the Mininaut missions in October, February & June.
