The annual reenactment of the Battle of Natural Bridge takes place Saturday and Sunday, March 3 & 4, 2018. Both a Saturday skirmish and Sunday’s full reenactment are conducted on part of the original battlefield acquired by the State in 2009. Other activities during the weekend include living history demonstrations interpreting civilian and military life during the 1860’s and historic presentations by volunteers from the John G. Riley Center/Museum of African American History.
The Confederate army victory here preserved Tallahassee’s status as the only Southern capital east of the Mississippi not captured by Union forces. Annual two-day event reenacts the battle and includes a period encampment and demonstrations.
