Gameday Weekends in Tallahassee

Combine a legacy of winning football with a delicious array of unique dining options, exciting live performances, local craft breweries and a killer nightlife and you have a near-perfect Tallahassee weekend. Here’s a perfect playbook of activities for fueling your football weekend.

There’s no better way to start a fun-filled football weekend than with CollegeTown’s Block Party extravaganza or the ever-popular Downtown Getdown. See the week’s featured musical artist perform live as you bounce around to some of the best bars & restaurants in town. You don’t have to venture far for whatever your craving, whether it’s German-themed steins at Township, American gastro-pub fare at Madison Social, New Orleans style daiquiris at Coosh’s, Italian dining at Centrale, or tacos & margaritas at Tin Lizzy’s. Downtown fans make weekend pilgrimages to Andrew’s Capital Grill and Bar for food and festivities.

If you’re looking for something truly out of the ordinary, take a stroll through Railroad Square Art Park. Every first Friday of the month, this unique art park community hosts a celebration where visitors browse art galleries and funky vintage shops like Otherside Vintage and enjoy live music. Make sure to stop into Proof, Tallahassee’s leading local brewery and continue all the fun before Saturday's big game.

Today’s the big day, so get your game day energy going and start the day with a winning breakfast. Check out Tallahassee’s most beloved breakfast spots, from the classic Canopy Road Café, serving up mind-blowing pancake creations, to Uptown Café whose menu overflows with homemade, drool-worthy dishes.

Gear up for game day and shop some of Tallahassee’s go-to spots for school-spirited apparel. Be sure to check out Barefoot Campus Outfitter in CollegeTown, Alumni Hall in Midtown, or any of Garnet & Gold’s locations for help finding some of your favorite school designs, jerseys, game day face tattoos and memorabilia.

If you’re looking for something to do before the game begins, Tallahassee has plenty of options. Get outside and explore over 600 miles of breathtaking nature trails, soar through the trees on a zip line adventure at the Tallahassee Museum or start tailgating aboard the Growler Country’s Brew Bus, where you’ll get a taste Tallahassee’s ever-evolving list of local craft brews.

Once the game is over, the celebrations continue at Tallahassee’s local bars and restaurants. Enjoy an evening at The Edison for a delicious dinner overlooking the beauty of Cascades Park, or if you’re in the mood for something more low-key, try pizza slices the size of your head at Momo’s. Choose from dozens of hip bars like Fox & StagThe Wine Loft, and Fifth & Thomas or grab a beer at any of our local breweries, including GrassLandsProofOlogyDeep and Lake Tribe.

Before you head back to reality, finish strong with a Sunday brunch for the books. Grab brunch at Prime Time for unlimited mimosas and a bloody mary bar that puts others to shame, not to mention their mouth-watering menu that takes breakfast classics to a whole new level. For another tasty brunch spot before hitting the road, check out Paisleys Café where they make it their mission to infuse flavor with only the highest quality ingredients.
