Apalachee Council House Rethatching

The council house at Mission San Luis is a reconstructed version of a building that existed in the 17th century. It was the focus of daily life among Apalachee people and the site of political, administrative and ceremonial activities. This video shows a time lapse of the roof re-thatching with approximately 90,000 palm fronds done by Sopchoppy Thatch Corp.
