Top 5 Reasons to Visit FSU - The Flying High Circus

Kathie Lee and Hoda of The Today Show are on a search for the most-spirited college campus in the United States. We will be highlighting the top 5 reasons why we think they should hit the road and join us at Florida State University. Feel free to share this post and tag it with the hashtag #KLGandHodaU!

Reason Number Five - The Florida State University Flying High Circus

Florida State University is home to one of only two collegiate circuses in the United States; The Florida State University Flying High Circus

Since 1947, FSU circus students have been thrilling audiences in Tallahassee and beyond with breathtaking performances and incredible stage presentations. This extra-curricular activity rivals any professional show with 18-22 circus acts ranging from jaw-dropping trapeze performances to hilarious antics by clowns. Shows are performed throughout the year in Tallahassee, at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA, and occasionally in various other locations. In its 60 year history, the circus has appeared in Europe, Canada, the Bahamas, and the West Indies and was selected as one of the Southeast Tourism Society's Top 20 Events for multiple years. It has even been the subject of a CSTV documentary titled "Flying High: the Florida State University Circus."

Students are involved in every aspect of the show, including equipment setup, prepping the Big Top tent, sewing costumes, producing lights and sound for the performances, and much more!

Take a peak at a past Halloween performance by the Flying High Circus and then start planning your trip to Tallahassee to watch in person!

If you'd like to witness FSU's Flying High Circus in person, come out on October 12th for the Parent's Weekend Circus Performance! Click here for more details.

We invite you and your family to see why this special part of Tallahassee is just one reason that makes Florida State University the most-spirited college campus in the U.S.
